As always, I once again extended my vast network to assist in the battle against ICE and the international project SIEPAC.
The SIEPAC project, in case you are unaware, is a project that involves running high tension power lines from Panama all the way in to Mexico, cutting a path of ecological distaster in it's wake.
The community of La Alfombra is the primary resistance SIEPAC is experiencing in this moment as the community battles ICE, the company granted the contract for the section of the SIEPAC project in Costa Rica.
ICE would prefer to clear cut primary rainforest and destroy natural springs rather than extend the route some 2kms and run the lines through primarily pasture lands without any springs.
Even the Wikipedia entry for the SIEPAC project mentions it's impact on the environment.
