Gossip about the neighbors

Ojochal Costa Rica

Ojochal, Costa Rica

What's a community web site without a little gossiping about the neighbors right?

Ojochal...they were a quiet family and pretty much kept to themselves. The Ojochal family is a tight one.

Ok all joking aside, Ojochal is the predominantly French-Canadian community just south of Uvita. Consisting primarily of restaurants and BB's with a few small hotels, Ojochal is comparatively much less 'commercial' than Uvita but this just adds to it's charm.

On any given day or evening, one can visit Ojochal to enjoy any number of it's world cuisine restaurants or diners. What would a French community be without a French bakery? A little off the beaten path, if one asks for directions to the bakery, you can enjoy some of the finest baked goods in the Southern Zone. Also located in Ojochal is Gringo Mike's Pizza Parlor with pizza making the drive to Ojochal worth every mile.

The areas around Ojochal feature many exciting and adventurous things to do including the Pavon Waterfall and Terraba River Mangroves to name a few.

Congratulations!

Congratulations on your purchase of a property in San Buenas Golf Course. I am sure you will enjoy life in Costa Rica compared to back home in Canada. Pace is plenty slower and much more laid back.

BTW: although we can all call ourselves whatever we please, there is a difference between Gringo and Canadian amongst the Ticos. I would suggest the "Soy Canadiense" rather than accepting the Gringo label if you are Canadian.

PS: keep us updated if you dont mind on just how the golf project is progressing as we do not get out there often.

Hey! Where are all the people that I thought I'd find in this site? I am a Canadian Gringo who has purchased a lot in the San Buenas gated community which is located beside the new golf course. I do not have a house on the lot as of yet, but I'm working on it. My wife and I are looking forward to escaping from Canada in the near future, and spending the balance of our lives in Costa Rica. I love the Tico people, the reasonable cost of survival, the weather, and living in a place where I do not have to learn Punjabi to talk to my neighbours. My wife is from the Philippines and loves the tropical climate of Costa Rica. Well... hello to everyone... If there is anyone in this site. John and Loreta
