Now here is a beach destination that is really dependent on 'timing'. Ventanas beach is best enjoyed at low tide when the caves (ventanas/windows) are least full of seawater. Although beautiful, these caves can become quite dangerous if a person is caught inside during either a rogue waves or as high tide encroaches. So with that in mind, your best bet is to visit Ventanas after you've discovered the tide charts for the area.
Playa Ventanas is a public beach that is located south of the Marino Ballena National Park. Located just outside of Ojochal, Costa Rica, this beach is an absolute must see while in the area.
Being a public beach, access can not be restricted, however, at Ventanas it is advisable to park in the 'pay' parking offered by the people living at the entrance to the beach. This way you know that your belongings are safe and your car is protected. Sometimes people will park outside the 'pay' area however this is not suggested.
When you emerge from the entrance path on to Playa Ventanas, you'll see this pristine, often deserted beach with it's private and palm lined sandy beach, this is one of the finest places to relax away all the previous days activities.
